ABDM integrated hospital management software

Mediwego is integrated with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). Create and verify ABHA for your patients, link their health records and share them securely with consent.

What is ABDM

India’s digital health mission

The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) is the Government of India’s programme, run by the National Health Authority (NHA), to connect patients, doctors and health facilities through one secure digital health network.

ABDM gives every citizen an ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) and maintains national registries of health facilities (HFR) and healthcare professionals (HPR). Health records stay with the hospital or lab that created them, and are shared only when the patient gives consent.

Because Mediwego is ABDM-integrated, your hospital, clinic or lab can join this network directly from the software you use every day.

ABHA

ABHA – Ayushman Bharat Health Account

ABHA is a free, voluntary digital health ID for every Indian. It lets patients keep all their health records together and share them with any doctor, with their consent.

14-digit ABHA number

A unique health ID that identifies the patient across India’s digital health system.

Easy ABHA address

A simple username like name@abdm, used to receive and share health records.

Consent-based sharing

Records stay with the provider and are shared securely only after the patient agrees.

Lifetime health records

Prescriptions, lab reports and visit records linked in one place, so patients don’t carry files.

Faster hospital visits

Patients share their ABHA at registration and their details come in quickly.

Voluntary and free

Creating an ABHA is free, and patients can deactivate or delete it at any time.

Patients can create their ABHA on the official portal: abha.abdm.gov.in

ABDM in Mediwego

ABHA built into your daily workflow

  • Create or verify a patient’s ABHA at registration
  • Link prescriptions, lab reports and visits to the patient’s ABHA
  • Share records with patients through the ABDM network, with consent
  • View records patients choose to share from other providers
  • Digital records that count towards DHIS incentives for eligible facilities
DHIS

Digital Health Incentive Scheme (DHIS)

Under ABDM, the National Health Authority runs DHIS to reward health facilities for going digital. Eligible facilities earn incentives for digital health records linked to patients’ ABHA, created using ABDM-enabled software like Mediwego.

Hospitals

Facilities with 10 or more beds offering IPD services and registered on the Health Facility Registry (HFR).

Labs & diagnostic centres

Diagnostic laboratories and imaging centres registered on the Health Facility Registry.

Incentive on digital records

Incentives are based on ABHA-linked digital health records. Creating or verifying an ABHA alone does not count.

How to register

Register your facility on HFR, then apply for DHIS through your HFR profile with bank and PAN details.

Full rules, incentive rates and the latest updates are on the official page: abdm.gov.in/DHIS. Our team can help you with HFR registration and DHIS setup.

FAQ

ABDM & ABHA questions

Is Mediwego ABDM integrated?

Yes. Mediwego is integrated with ABDM, so you can create and verify ABHA, link health records and share them with patient consent.

Is ABHA compulsory for patients?

No. ABHA is voluntary. Patients without ABHA can still be registered and treated in Mediwego as usual.

Where are patient records stored?

ABDM does not store health records. Records stay with your hospital in Mediwego and are shared over the ABDM network only with the patient’s consent.

Can my hospital get DHIS incentives?

If your facility meets the DHIS eligibility rules and is registered on HFR, ABHA-linked records created in Mediwego can count towards incentives. Check the latest rules on abdm.gov.in/DHIS.
